I think if the 2 people being shipped are consenting to the joke, then it's funny to see the actual PEOPLE being together behind the camera. But, if one (or both) of the celebrity/viner/youtubers have a serious, committed, happy relationship, then shipping is just causing problems and making the two uncomfortable.

It's like Supernatural, for example. I love Dean and Castiel's chemistry and dialogue and stuff, but I don't ship Jensen and Misha. BUT, Misha sees the people who do, and he kinda makes fun of that idea but taking a bunch of cute pictures with Jensen and they make videos together to show the fans that they're good friends. Though, if it came down to it, the two would never leave their families to run away together lmao
